Our Story

It started with a bookshelf. One day, while organizing our five-year-old Jacob’s growing book collection, I realized just how much our family had discovered through reading together.

From animals we’d never heard of to dinosaurs and prehistoric history, books have sparked questions, new interests, and more than a few things that my husband, Ryan and I ended up learning right alongside him.

As Jacob grew, his books grew with him—but when Els came along, we found ourselves back at the beginning with board books, bedtime stories, and a whole new little reader with opinions of her own.

What was once Jacob’s bookshelf became Jacob & Els’ collection, and eventually, the inspiration for Jacob & Els’ Corner.

We created this little corner to seek out hidden gems you may not find on the usual store shelves, celebrate the classics worth reading again and again, and make discovering great books easier and affordable for families.

Many of our shelves are even inspired by what our own kids are loving and learning about right now. Because to us, the best books aren’t simply the ones sitting on a shelf—they’re the ones that spark curiosity, create memories, and make little hands reach for them again and again.
